DEKALB COUNTY, Ind. (21Alive) – A single vehicle crash early Sunday morning leaves a man in serious condition.

Authorities say Scott Greenwood, 47, of Waterloo, was driving northbound on County Road 427 in DeKalb County when he drove off the road.

Greenwood's car ran into a ditch, struck several trees, and rolled on its top. The car was stopped by a tree and caught fire, trapping Greenwood inside.

Luckily, fire crews were able to get Greenwood out and they took him to a local hospital.

Authorities believe alcohol played a factor.
