FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) - A local group of kids packed their dance shoes and headed to Indianapolis for a big audition today.

You can usually find these 17 kids at the Tiffany and Co. Studio of Dance, but on Sunday, they're auditioning for the upcoming season of 'America's Got Talent.'

21Alive was able to catch up with them for their final rehearsal before they left. The group goes by 'Illustrator's in Motion' and joining the dancers, is 12-year-old singer, Carmen V.

The group is taking a very unique and different approach to these auditions. Instead of "glamming" up like most performers, the kids wanted to illustrate a very difficult time in American history.

Their instructor hopes their artistic approach resonates with the judges.

"Hopefully we'll stand out as a dance group because even the way they're dressed is really different. We're going with the depression era," said instructor, Haley Heath.

If they make it through the auditions in Indianapolis, their next stop is Las Vegas.
