INDIANA (Indiana's NewsCenter) - It's good news as the Indiana Department of Education releases scores from the most recent round of ISTEP+ exams.
State-wide improvements were made in every subject area with 78-percent of students passing the English- Language Arts portion.
Pass rates were 79 percent in Math, 69 percent in Science, and 67 percent in Social Studies.
And the news is even better for Fort Wayne Community Schools, the state's second largest school system.
Improvements there surpassed the state's gains.
The district saw scores rise in every subject, at every grade level, except 8th grade language arts.
FWCS Superintendent Wendy Robinson says, “That's the good news. That's the encouraging news. The biggest thing for us is, that doesn't mean we stop. We don't have any time to waste, because if you're going to stay on that same projectory as the state, we have a lot of work to do."
East Allen County Schools are also boasting improvements to last year's ISTEP+ scores.
We'll break it all down tonight at five and six.
