FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) – The Handbell Musicians of America visit the Summit City for their annual conference.

Ringing could be heard clear as a bell today at the Grand Wayne Center the Handbell Musicians of America hosted its annual Spring conference.

Hundreds of musicians from five states gathered to take classes and workshops, and perform classical arrangements. They performed songs that they learned in just a day and a half.

The Indiana Handbell representative says the handbell alone has a unique sound, but when you add hundreds more, “it's quite a bit different sound, it's a weird sound,” said Andy Peralta with the Indiana Chair of Handbell Guild. “There's a lot of techniques, a lot of ways they can doctor up music to make it sound really fun and really exciting.”

This is the first time since 2009, the Handbell Guild has played in Fort Wayne.
