INDIANAPOLIS (21Alive) -- A joint operation between the Fort Wayne Police Department's Gang and Violent Crimes Unit and the United States Marshals has led to the arrest of a fleeing suspect in Indianapolis.

Detectives from the Fort Wayne Police Department had been informed that yesterday a female would be driving down to Indianapolis from Fort Wayne to pick up Marcus O'Neil Timmons. The 24-year-old man is wanted in connection to gang activity in Fort Wayne, including being a suspect in a shooting from August of 2013.

When the woman reached Indianapolis, the two planned on leaving the state and heading to Arizona. Detectives were able to intercept them while they were preparing to leave.

Timmons is being held in the Marion County Jail waiting transport back to Fort Wayne.
