Fort Wayne, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) - The Coats 4 Kids program continues along and the need continues in our community.

None of us wants to see a child suffer through the cold, this winter, especially without a coat.

That's where you come in.

21Alive is partnering with Kroger, Peerless Cleaners and the Volunteer Center to bring warm coats to kids in need.

We need coats of all sizes for children in kindergarten through high school.

You can also donate hats, gloves and scarves at any of the drop-off partner locations listed above or here at the station on Butler Road.

Jean Jolly with the Volunteer Center says, “What we want are warm, winter coats. No lightweight coats. Make sure they they're in working condition, the zippers work, the snaps work. We want the good stuff for the kids."

If you don't have the clothing to donate you can give $21. That money will be spent by savvy shoppers to buy a coat, hat and gloves for a local child.

You can also donate the $21 online via the Volunteer Center/RSVP's website at:

Or for more information, contact the Volunteer Center/RSVP at 260-424-3505.

The Fort Wayne Fire Department is joining the 21Alive Coats for Kids Campaign with a challenge to collect coats.

Plus the deadline for the campaign is being extended to December 14th.

21Alive is a proud new sponsor of this important community coat drive.
