FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) -- Fort Wayne's Redevelopment Director confirms that the city will spend $80,000 to prepare The Harrison for construction, though the developers of the commercial project are still working to sell tax credits and finalize financing.

Greg Leatherman says even if the developers don't follow through with the office, retail and apartments next to Parkview Field, the city must remove thousands of square yards of soil and debris from the site, to satisfy its contract obligations.

Leatherman says the developers are expected to announce a groundbreaking soon on the final piece of the Harrison Square project.
