FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) -- The Charger Pride Marching Band is flush with cash thanks to a group of enterprising Carroll High School students.
On April 16, Bob Thomas Dimension Ford-Lincoln and Lincoln sponsored the Drive Smart For Your School program, raising over $3,000 for the Charger Pride Marching Band at Carroll High.
Drive Smart for Your School is a program that raises money for school organizations all over the country. Bob Thomas Dimension Ford-Lincoln provided several new Lincoln automobiles to be test-driven at Carroll High School, with Lincoln donating $20 to the Charger Pride for every qualified test drive.
Lincoln encouraged each school organization in the program to create a student video documenting the event and submit them for judging.
The school producing the best video nationally would receive a matching donation, effectively doubling the amount generated.
After reviewing all of the student video submissions, Lincoln chose the Charger Pride’s three-minute video as best in country. Winning the competition brought Lincoln’s donation to the Charger Pride to nearly $7,000
The video was produced by band members Carlos Gutierrez, Ryan Gabet and Sean Meehan.
The three-minute clip features appearances by Charger Pride Director Richard Karkosky, Allen County Sheriff Kenneth Fries, and numerous members of the Carroll community.
