MUNCIE, Ind. (21Alive) – A student was stabbed at Ball State University during a robbery attempt on campus.

Police say the injured student took himself to the hospital after the incident and was released after treatment.

The would-be robber accosted the student in a parking lot near Worthen Arena and tried to take the student's wallet—that’s when the stabbing occurred.

Ball State police say the student was stabbed in the upper arm. The suspect, described as white and wearing a tan hooded sweatshirt, was not taken into custody.
