Fort Wayne, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) - A mother turns the death of her son into a positive program benefiting area people in need.

It's called Backpacks of Hope, something Shelley Septer began shortly after the death of her son last December.

He was working with the area's homeless population at the time and now Septer is continuing her son’s deeds by asking for people to donate backpacks, personal hygiene items, hats, coats, gloves, and so on and then passes them out to people in need.

Septer says, “We need to do something, number one, to keep people warm. He was so concerned about people staying warm and fed, and also to give people hope, the hope that he was giving them, that with faith, you can do anything."

Bring your donations to Huntington North High School from 11- 1 this Saturday.

They'll be given out on December 20th at the Fort Wayne Rescue Mission.
