FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) -- With the bitter cold temperatures, local homeless shelters are pretty full.

Fort Wayne Rescue Mission for men and Charis House for women and children, combined, hold about 130 people.

Officials say they'll do their best to make certain no one is turned-away providing those in need with more than just a bed, at night.

Pastor Sharon Gerig, Coordinator of the Fort Wayne Rescue Mission says, “We also have several programs that the men can enter. The programs focus on helping with goal setting, men that are specifically looking for work, them wanting to save up enough money to get their own apartment or house, we want to do everything we can to help them.”

The Fort Wayne Rescue Mission is located on West Superior Street.

Charis House is on Wells Street.
