GRANT COUNTY, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) - An accident on I-69 near mile marker 255 in Grant County shut down the northbound lanes of the interstate Saturday evening.
Initial reports indiacate that a semi was heading south on the interstate when the driver crossed over into oncoming traffic. The semi tipped over and rolled on top of an SUV, almost embedding the car into the trailer of the semi.
The semi was carrying a load of corosive chemicals that spilled all over the highway. Hazmat crews were called in to clean up the mess.
No word yet on injuries, however a witness reported seeing two people flown from the scene.
The northbound lanes have since been reopened.
