JIMMERSON LAKE (Indiana’s NewsCenter) – An 8 year old boy was injured in a boating accident Sunday morning on Jimmerson Lake while riding on a tube with two other youths.

The driver of the boat, H. Lauren Vogel, said he expected the boat in front of him to turn and when it didn’t, he turned to the west and encountered another boat that had stopped to pick up a skier that was still in the water. To avoid the skier, Vogel turned even more causing the tube to be slung out of the wake. The tube struck the other boat in the hull, causing severe head injuries to the boy.

He was flown by Samaritan to a Fort Wayne Hospital.
