FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) -- An assistant fire chief in Fort Wayne will soon be the fire chief in Tallahassee, Florida.

In his 30 years with the Fort Wayne Fire Department, Jerome Gaines has held positions ranging from private to captain to shift commander to assistant chief for operations.
