MEMPHIS (www.incnow.tv) - Fort Wayne Mad Ants head coach Duane Ticknor has accepted an assistant coaching job with the Memphis Grizzlies.

Ticknor confirmed the move Tuesday night. He is part of the staff for Grizzlies' new head coach Dave Joerger.

Joerger was an assistant under Ticknor when Ticknor was head coach of the Dakota Wizards.

Ticknor describes his relationship with Joeger as like a father and a son.

Ticknor spent one season in Fort Wayne and leading the Mad Ants to their first NBA Development Leagues Playoffs. The Ants went 27-23, losing to Santa Cruz in the playoffs.

He says he had a great time in Fort Wayne, and the franchise is heading in the right direction.

Ticknor has been a minor league and college basketball for 18 years, spending time with Dakota, Sioux Falls and the college ranks.
