FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) - Prairie Farms Dairy is celebrating its 75th anniversary with free community events across the Midwest.

Families headed out to Keuhnert Farm in Fort Wayne Saturday for an afternoon of fun and learning.

People got the chance to sample some new Prairie Farms products, and enjoy the old favorites. Plus, there were educational booths set up to teach families about farming, health, and the benefits of chocolate milk.

The General Manager of the Fort Wayne division says although Prairie Farms is a national brand, it's produced locally.

“When you buy a Prairie Farms product, you're buying a product that is produced here in Fort Wayne. But also all the milk comes from within about 90 miles of Fort Wayne so you're supporting families that work in the plant in Fort Wayne but also our family farmer-owned,” said Chuck McQuaig

McQuaid says Prairie Farms is proud of the fact they produce a high quality dairy product from family-owned farms.

One of these events is taking place today, Saturday, June 22. This celebration is open to community members, families and employees and will be held at the Kuehnert Farm, 6532 Cook Rd, from until 1 p.m.

According to event officials, attendees will have the chance to sample new products as well as old favorites, enjoy cake and sign a giant anniversary card. All guests will be able to enter to win a year's supply of dairy products or a family vacation. There will also be multiple educational booths set up to teach families about farming, general health, the benefits of chocolate milk and more.

Exclusive to the Fort Wayne event, children will have the chance to meet Blue, the Indianapolis Colts mascot, as well as take part in NFL Play 60.
