FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) – It was mostly work, but also some fun as the 122nd Fighter Wing held its annual Family Day at the base.

The event hosted many family-friendly activities like dunk tanks, water slides, and many informational booths. The Family Day event gives kids and family members an opportunity to see what goes on at the base day in and day out.

The A-10 Weapons Load Crew demonstrated how they load weapons onto the planes, and the 122nd also unveiled two historical paintings done by Peter Westacott, a well-known artist and highly decorated pilot.

However, the day wasn't just for the kids, it was for the airmen as well.

“It kind of gives us a little bit of a break to actually relax with our families, because being out here it's a full-time job. Even on weekends we're very busy so having our families come out here and supporting us is definitely awesome,” said Ashley Canfield, Airman First Class.

Canfield says even though it was hot one, everyone seemed to enjoy the day.
