WARSAW, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) - A Warsaw man was seriously injured Wednesday after his moped collided with a dog near Claypool.
Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department deputies and emergency personnel responded Wednesday around 1:30 p.m. to a reported crash north of Claypool. Officers located the driver of the moped, identified as Robert L. Hawley, 84, in the roadway and being attended to by family members. Officials arrived immediately to the scene. Hawley suffered from multiple head injuries.
Investigators stated that Hawley had been traveling northbound on County Road 50 West driving his 1964 red Allstate 788 moped/scooter when a German shepherd entered into the roadway.
Hawley was unable to avoid colliding with the canine and was thrown from the moped onto the roadway surface.
