UNITED STATES (www.incnow.tv) -- Amazon is facing criticism after it was pointed out that offensive T-shirts, that seemed to promote domestic abuse among other illegal physical acts, were being sold through the online retailer.
Users alerted Amazon.us.uk that the US-based clothing seller, Solid Gold Bomb, was selling T-shirts with the slogan "Keep Calm and Rape a Lot".
Solid Gold Bomb apologized for that particular shirt but continued to sell other shirts with similar messages. "Keep Calm and Knife Her" and "Keep Calm and Grope A Lot" were other shirts that the online retailer was allowing to be sold.
Solid Gold Bomb and Amazon were barraged with critical comments from social media users. Solid Gold Bomb has reportedly shut down its Twitter account.
The company wrote the following statement on their website: "Although we did not in any way deliberately create the offensive t-shirts in question and it was the result of a scripted programming process that was compiled by only one member of our staff, we accept the responsibility of the error and our [sic] doing our best to correct the issues at hand. We're sorry for the ill feeling this has caused! We're doing our best here to fix the problem."
The shirts have since been removed from the seller's Amazon page.
