Will County, IL (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - The jury found former-police officer, Drew Peterson guilty of first degree murder, in the 2004 murder of his third wife, Kathleen Savio.

The jury reached the decision after deliberating for just over 13 hours.

The 58-year-old former police sergeant is charged with killing his third wife, Kathleen Savio.

His attorneys say Savio's death was an accident and that Stacy Peterson, Drew Peterson's fourth wife, ran off with another man and is alive.

Authorities have said they believe she is dead, although her body has never been found.
