WASHINGTON (NBC33) -- Former press secretary to President Ronald Reagan, James Brady, has died according to a report from NBC News.
NBC News confirmed Brady passed away from his family. Brady was wounded in a failed assassination attempt on President Reagan in 1981. Brady was confined to a wheelchair for the remainder of his life and became an advocate of gun-control. In 1993, President Clinton signed into law the Brady Handgun Violence Protection Act.
