MIDLAND CITY, Ala. (www.incnow.tv) -- The five-year-old boy, Ethan, who was being held in an underground bunker for nearly a week has been released. The abductor, Jimmy Lee Dykes, is dead.

A statement made by the FBI Sunday said authorities were communicating with Dykes on a regular basis and were able to meet requests the boy made for snacks and toys (including Cheez-Its and a red Hot Wheels car).

According to the live news conference, within the past 24 hours negotiations had deteriorated and the FBI agents on the scene entered the bunker to rescue the child. It is not clear as to how Dykes died. Ethan is in stable condition.
