Man Driving Stolen Vehicle Crashes Into Unmarked Police Car and Injures Officers, Authorities Say

According to a report from Granite Broadcasting sister station WBNG in Binghamton, N.Y., a 53-year-old New York man is scheduled to be arraigned after allegedly hitting an unmarked police car and injuring three police officers Thursday while driving a stolen vehicle.

According to the WBNG report:

On Thursday afternoon, police responded to a gas station regarding a vehicle being stolen from the parking lot. Officer responded to the scene and spotted the vehicle driving through the city and attempted to pull over the driver.

Police said the driver was driving at a high rate of speed and at times the wrong way down a one way road, and that the suspect struck an unmarked police car with three officers inside. The vehicle received extensive damage.

The suspect eventually left the vehicle and fled on foot. Ithaca Police later found him inside a nearby housing complex.

The three officers were taken to a nearby hospital and treated a neck and back pain.
