A tragic accident in northern Wisconsin last week, according to a report from Granite Broadcasting sister station Northland's NewsCenter.
According to the Northland's NewsCenter report:
A 65-year-old man died last week after falling down an elevator shaft inside a warehouse in Superior, Wis.
Authorities said the man was taken to a hospital late Thursday morning complaining of injuries he sustained from a fall that occurred several hours earlier.
The man later died in the hospital due to his injuries.
An initial investigation revealed that the man had been working inside a warehouse on North First Street with two other man when he fell. The three of them had been moving some furniture in the building, but it was dark at the time.
The man had gone looking for a light switch, but fell 8 to 10 feet down an elevator shaft. The other two men said they heard the noise of the fall and man yelling for help.
The other two men transported the man to the hospital because he declined have an ambulance called.
