According to the CINewsNow.com report:

An Illinois woman was arrested over the weekend after allegedly stealing a cab and leading police on a 20-mile chase.

According to Pekin (Ill.) Police, a 35-year-old woman was the fare for a Yellow Checkered Cab before getting in the driver's seat and leaving the Mineral Springs Motel in Pekin.

Police say the woman ran into a guard rail at the Pekin Community Bank, then led police 20 miles south of Pekin on Route 9.

There, authorities stopped the car with spike strips and a pit maneuver.

Police say the woman was intoxicated and charged with multiple counts, including two counts of aggravated battery, motor-vehicle theft, driving on a suspended license, damage to property, and possession of cannabis.
