ANN ARBOR, Mich. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - The Barton family may be from Oklahoma City, but are big University of Michigan fans.
When 5-year-old son, Cooper, wore a Michigan Wolverines T-shirt to kindergarten at Wilson Elementary School, he never thought he would get in trouble for rooting for his favorite team.
School officials made Cooper turn his shirt inside out, citing a school dress code that only allows team apparel from Oklahoma colleges.
Michigan athletic director David Brandon heard about Cooper's situation, and invited the Barton family to the Michigan-UMass football game Saturday.
Brandon also arrainged for Cooper and his family to be interviewed live on BTN during the game.
