INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (www.theindychannel.com) – A 10 year old girl’s lemonade stand was mistakenly shut down last weekend at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Morgen Morris, 10, and her mother, Telisha Morris, were selling lemonade at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Saturday as part of National Lemonade Day, an event meant to encourage young entrepreneurs, when someone approached them and insisted that they didn't have proper permission to operate at IMS.

Jami Marsh, Lemonade Day Director, told ABC affiliate RTV6,"Someone approached her, and we're still not sure who it was, somebody referencing the city health department, claiming that she did not have a permit for her lemonade stand and that she would have to shut it down.”

Marsh said that, in addition to IMS permission, the city and state health departments also granted the organization a temporary waiver for the day to operate at IMS.

But by the time Lemonade Day leaders learned about the incident, the stand had already been shut down.

After word of Morris' disappointment spread, donations began pouring in, including a $500 contribution from IMS to the American Heart Association, the group for which she was raising money.

$700 was also donated from two unnamed donors.

Morris says that this incident taught her to be prepared for anything when it comes to business.
