Men Sentenced to 14 Years in Prison For Killing Friend's Dog

A lengthy prison sentence for a Florida man convicted of killing his friend's dog with a tire iron.

According to a report from the Sarasota Herald-Tribune, a 52-year-old Florida man was sentenced this week to 14 years in prison and five years on probation after pleading no contest to charges that he beat a friend's dog to death with a tire iron earlier this year.

The man has also been prohibited from contact with the family of the dog as part of his sentence, according to the Sarasota Herald-Tribune report.
