According to the WKBW report:
An New York woman attacked by her own dog is recovering.
Porterville police say a 66-year-old woman was attacked by her 125-pound Doberman after it had escaped from a fenced-in yard.
The woman's son and neighbor found her after she called for help from a wooded area behind her home.
The woman was found lying on the ground, suffering from numerous bite wounds to her face, upper body and legs. She was treated at the scene and was transported to a hospital. She is listed in serious condition.
Police say the dog had to be put down by responding troopers.
