Chyrsler is recalling more than 900,000 late model Jeep Grand Cherokees and Liberty SUVs because of a possible problem with the vehcile's airbags.

Officials with Chrysler say the vehicles' air bag control computer could potentially cause the airbag to inflate while the SUV is being driven.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the recall affects Jeep Grand Cherokees from 2002 through 2004 and Jeep Liberty models from 2002 through 2003.

Chrysler will begin notifying owners in January and install an electrical harness to fix the problem.

A National Highway Traffic Safety administration investigation found the SUVsair bags inflated 215 times, causing 81 minor injuries.

No crashes, however, were reported.
