Convicted Murderer to Get New Trial Due to Court Reporter Error

According to the Miami Herald, a Florida appeals court has thrown out a man's murder conviction after a court reporter erased the transcript of his murder trial by accident.

The man, who had been sentenced to life in prison, was convicted in July 2009 of shooting and killing a man outside his condo. The court reporter who erased the transcript was fired from her firm, according to the Miami Herald report.
