According to the New York Times, a 41-year-old New York woman was killed Wednesday after being crushed to death in an elevator accident in an office building on Madison Avenue.
According to the Times story, the woman was stepping into the elevator when the doors closed on her leg and it shot upward. Two others inside the elevator at the time of the incident were rescued by firefighters, according to the Times.
