Weather Record 26 Years in the Making

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - It only took 26 years, but Snow depth at the Fort Wayne Airport reached 13" on Sunday, February 6, 2011. This is the deepest the snow has been in Fort Wayne since February 16, 1985 when the snow depth also reached 13".

So far this has also been the 5th snowiest winter season with just over 37 inches. The 4th snowiest occured in 2007-08, and it is likley we will pass that year this month! 1981-82 saw the highest snowfall, and that winter just over 60 inches fell.
