INDIANA (Indiana's NewsCenter) - State unemployment figures are set to be released on Friday.
With that said there is a new report out indicating that small to mid sized companies are hiring.
In fact last month alone they hired 42,000 people.
Although there has been steady job growth in the past six months, the number of jobs added has been modest, an average of just 37,000 a month.
However, state revenue is once again below expectations.
The State Budget Agency collected $917-million in July, that's $72-million less than what was anticipated in the budget lawmakers passed in 2009.
Governor Mitch Daniels has ordered 15 percent cuts in state agency spending for fiscal year 2011, and the state is spending its reserves to help make up for the revenue shortfalls.
