INDIANA (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - Indiana collected nearly $1.3 billion in taxes last month, that’s about $41 million more than what analysts had predicted.

Income taxes were up 15 percent from January of last year and the state brought in a record $607 million in sales taxes.

However, revenues are still below what was forecast in 2009.

Currently state lawmakers are working to pass a new 2 year budget.
