INDIANA (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - The Hoosier state is stepping up its campaign to convince Illinois businesses that it is cheaper to operate in the state located directly to the east.

Officials in northwest Indiana are investing $250,000 in an advertising campaign.

The Illinois governor signed into law last month increasing the state's personal income tax from 3 percent to 5 percent and the corporate tax rate from 4.8 percent to 7 percent.

You may recall that Navistar announced this past summer that they plan on leaving Fort Wayne and relocating in Illinois.
