FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - A group of local girl scouts is fighting to keep a beloved camp from closing.

Wednesday night they held a rally outside the Girl Scouts of Northern Indiana's board meeting to retain Camp Singing Hills in Elkhart County.

The board made the decision to close the camp last year, as a financial move to strengthen the focus on other camps.

Oscar a founding member of "Friends of Camp Singing Hills" says, “The situation came about in such a way that we feel that the membership was not really truly heard. And the view of the girls was not taken into consideration.”

Camp Singing Hills had been in existence since 1966.
