ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Lutheran Children's Hospital will be kicking off its "Kids Dart. Drive Smart." campaign on Wednesday.

This is the third year the hospital is working with the community to make neighborhoods safer for children.

Signs will be distributed all around the area to raise awareness as children kids head back to school.

Lutheran Hospital Outreach Coordinator Carmen DeBruce says, “In a couple of weeks kids will be going back to school, so drivers need to pay attention as kids are getting off the bus, and they're running in between cars, they're playing after school, the ball goes out into the street and of course the kids just follow the ball.”

Lutheran Hospital officials will be distributing 3,000 signs.

Residents can pick one up, free of charge, from any Allen County Fire Station.
