INDIANAPOLIS (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - Indiana Education Secretary Tony Bennett has announced a new plan to foster mentoring across the state.

At a news conference Tuesday, Bennett announced the program which calls for more people to consider mentoring students.

Bennett's program is a joint effort with the Indiana State Teachers Association.

Secretary Bennett says, “With one, one, one, one, and what that symbolizes, i think what we have to remember that the impact that one hour, one day a week can have when we take that talented human capital, some of our best and brightest in Indiana businesses and in Indiana communities."

The plan calls for a recruitment of mentors from the education and business community and as Bennett calls it, “talented human capital from across the state”.
