INDIANA (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - The Indiana House of Representatives has unanimously passed the “K2 Ban.”
House Bill 1102, which passed 98- 0, bans the production, possession, and sale of synthetic substances that mimic marijuana.
This bill is the first statewide effort to combat the growing problem of synthetic substances across the state.
With this bill the distribution, possession, delivering or manufacturing of synthetic substances such as K2 Spice would be either a Class C or Class D felony. These are also the same penalties for marijuana.
The bill now goes to the State Senate and if passed would go into effect in July of 2011.
