ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - The Southwest Allen County School district kicked off its new school year Monday morning, welcoming back thousands of students for their first day of school.

But students and parents were thrown a bit of a curve ball.

The district's superintendent says if you are near Homestead Road, expect to drive into a traffic jam.

East Allen County School students return to class on Thursday, and Fort Wayne Community's new school year starts next Monday.
