INDIANA (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Indiana State Senator Tom Wyss will be on the front-line of the fight against illegal immigration this weekend.

The Republican is traveling to the U.S.- Mexican border where he says he will be deployed with local police as they patrol the border to get a first-hand look at the efforts to control illegal immigration.

Senator Wyss says, “All of this information hopefully will be something that will give me the knowledge to make good decisions or inputs that come before me.”

Wyss currently chairs the State Senate's Homeland Security, Transportation and Veterans Affairs Committee.
