HUNTINGTON (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Folks in Huntington will head to the polls to decide who the next sheriff is going to be.

This year's race is between Republican Candidate Terry Stoffel and Independent Candidate Steve Ochs

For Stoffel it's a resume showing nearly 20 years in law enforcement.

Ochs said it's all about being supported by both Republicans and Democrats, as well as Tea Partiers.

Candidate for Sheriff Terry Stoffel says, “Experience, that's the big thing I bring to the table versus my candidate. I have 19-years of experience in law enforcement. Eight of those I was Police Chief.”

Ochs Campaign Manager Ken Zuk says, “We've had a lot people come to us in the Republican Party, in the Democratic Party and Tea Party especially because of his stance on no new taxes.”

The debate over the local option income tax is one that could decide this election.
