INDIANA/ WASHINGTON (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Senate Candidate Dan Coats has filed his financial disclosure statement one day after the State Democratic Party threatened to file an ethics complaint against him.

The statement was supposed to be filed April 4th.

According to a Coats' spokesperson, the campaign received bad advice from counsel who told them it wasn't due until next month.

State Democrats claim he didn't want to file the disclosure so he could hide money he made while being a Washington DC lobbyist.
