FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - City Councilwoman Karen Goldner has announced her intention to seek a second term as a city council member

Goldner made the announcement during a news conference Tuesday afternoon.

Goldner says she'll focus on streamlining the business permitting process if the voters give her a second term making it easier for companies to pick Fort Wayne.

Goldner acknowledged with two republicans opposing her, the other party must believe she's vulnerable.

Goldner says, “At the local level I think people want to be able to step in and make a difference. They see a district race as maybe being more manageable than at at-large race and not having to run city-wide. It's all good. We'll see who makes it through the primary and go from there."

City Firefighter Jerome Gaines and Kurt Gutman are the two GOP candidates for the 2nd district council position.
