INDIANA (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - The economic outlook for the Hoosier state is not as good as it is for its neighbors.

Nationally, the unemployment rate for December dropped two-tenths to 8.5 percent.

Tuesday morning, the Indiana Department of Workforce Development said the Hoosier state remained unchanged from the month before, at nine-percent.

And Ohio’s dropped four-tenths, to 8.1 percent.

Elkhart County sits at number three in the state with 11.2 percent unemployment.

Noble County comes in at number-22, with one out of every ten of its residents out of work.

Steuben is at number-28, with 9.7 percent unemployment.

And Allen County ranks number-49 with 8.6 percent of the population out of a job.
