INDIANAPOLIS (Indiana’s NewsCenter) – The bill requiring welfare recipients to pass a drug test has died in committee.
A state Senate committee did not pass the House version of the bill.
If the bill had passed some state lawmakers would also have had to pass a drug test to get perks.
Another reason causing the bill to stall, concerns the program would cost $1-million to implement.
Supporters may try to revive it later this session.
