15% of National Population Now on Food Stamps

INDIANA (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - While unemployment is trending down in the Hoosier state the use of food stamps has increased.

13.8-percent of the state's population is enrolled in the program, climbing 4.9-percent since last year.

On the nationally level, 15-percent of the U.S. population now rely on food stamps, an increase of 8.1-percent over last year.
