(Fort Wayne, IN) -- Next week is National Crime Victims' Rights Week.

Fort Wayne's Victim Assistance office is designed to help crime victims and their loved ones.

Services range from crisis intervention to referring people to programs for help with burial costs to sitting with them for every court hearing once a suspect is arrested.

The Victim Assistance director says crimes' ripple effects reach farther than you might think.

Lynnice Hamilton\FW Victim Assistance Director: " There are sisters and brothers, children involved, friends, students. Everybody suffers. There's no winner in this situation."

For example, of of the women shot and killed on Blum Drive last week had four small children. So now someone else now has to raise them.
