EGYPT (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak has resigned.
The resignation of Mubarak will usher in a transition of power in Egypt.
For the past 18 days anti-government protesters have been calling for Mubarak's resignation.
Mubarak has been in power for the past three decades.
Protester have been cheering "Egypt is free!" in the streets of Cairo ever since the announcement was issued by Vice President Omar Suleiman over state television.
It is reported that the affairs of the country will be in the hands of the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces.
